Introduction
The SPHERE Project Humanitarian Charter and Minimum Standards in Humanitarian Response is the most widely known and recognised set of common principles and universal minimum standards for humanitarian response. The SPHERE standards also assist humanitarian agencies and NGOs in both disaster preparedness and development context. This 4 day course is an introductory exploration on the SPHERE Project Humanitarian Charter and Minimum Standards aiming at enabling humanitarian workers understand the philosophy of the standards and enable them mainstream quality and accountability to disaster affected populations.
Target Participants
The course is intended for use by humanitarian and development professionals (specialists and non specialists) working in disaster/emergency response, disaster preparedness and development work in all sectors;
- Humanitarian agencies
- NGOs
- Government officers
- Community Based Organizations
- Individual interested in humanitarian work
Training materials: The participants will be given the presentation slides and the case studies in CD form. All materials have been developed by the SPHERE Project; www.sphereproject.org
Course Accreditation:An individual Certificate from IDCTCB of completing the Training Courses
Course fees: The course fee is 3000 SDG or 300 $ which covers tuition, training file and materials, and certificate of participation. Register early to book your place in the training.
